Middle School Instructional Assistant

Nobles seeks to hire a middle school instructional assistant (MSIA). Potentially ideal for individuals who are exploring a career in education, this role will provide firsthand experience in the practice of independent school education. A bachelor's degree is required.
This is a one-year, academic year (9.5 months) position. The daily responsibilities for this position will vary. The middle school instructional assistant (MSIA) will work Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week, 8 a.m. to 5p.m. The MSIA will immerse themselves fully in the school, working with teachers and administrators to help deliver various middle school programs and providing coverage during the absence of a faculty member.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Support teachers with classroom set-up, management, and delivery of program
- Cover for a number of study halls, recesses
- Support for various specific duties of the middle school administrative assistant.
- Proctoring spaces where students congregate and study during free periods
- Help with the monitoring of student behavior during free and passing times.
- Participate in and support middle school events/activities.
- Attend various middle school meetings (as needed)
- Support the school principles and rules as the MSIA helps set the tone of the middle school and enforces behavioral expectations.
- Perform support duties during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and as assigned.
- Work to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Work three seasons in the Afternoon Program, including either coaching a sport, chaperoning community service, or assisting in the theater program.
