Position Summary


As the Technical Group Lead for CPS Energy's ERP Implementation, this role will be instrumental in orchestrating the seamless integration of the new ERP solution across diverse functional and technical areas.

The Technical Group Lead (TGL) will head a cross-skilled technical team responsible for coordinating the components of a new SaaS architecture, data conversion, integration with existing applications, and both security and system administration.

This role requires strong decision-making skills, collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, and a deep understanding of both the ERP domain and the supporting business requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Value Creation

  • Collaborate with the overall ERP Transformation Lead and work closely with implementation partners to oversee the technical aspects of end to end ERP process implementation.
  • Define and drive technical goals, manage program dependencies, and eliminate data redundancies, emphasizing data integrity across the organization.
  • Engage proactively with cross functional teams, IT resources, and external vendors to identify and implement technical solutions and seek opportunities for process improvement.
  • Define and measure program goals, including the identification of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with a focus on technical metrics and system performance.
  • Ensure the ERP system's technical design aligns with business objectives, contributing to operational effectiveness through advanced process modernization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze technical business requirements, working closely with stakeholders to prioritize and document technical specifications.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication channels with key stakeholders, providing regular status reports.
  • Address conflicts within project teams, escalating when necessary.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the technical aspects of change management strategies with the Change Management team for smooth transitions and positive attitudes towards ERP Implementation.
Business Operations

  • Foster collaboration with cross functional teams, IT resources, and external vendors to drive excellence.
  • Lead a cross skilled technical team, including Technical Architects, Data Conversion resources, Integration resources and both System and Security Admins; allocate technical resources to meet program goals.
  • Identify and address risks and issues, developing contingency plans to minimize impacts.
  • Ensure technical quality assurance through support for various testing phases, including Product, Stress, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Resolve delivery issues or escalate to leadership for discussion and solutions.
  • Facilitate relevant communications through team meetings, status updates, planning sessions, and issue resolution meetings.
  • Prepare for release, including training, deployment, and sustainment activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of technical program related activities.
  • Track measurable goals and use data driven insights to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor project efforts, resolving issues and roadblocks; escalate when necessary.
  • Support programs change control, ensuring tech related scope changes are evaluated and approved.
People Development

  • Lead the technical team within the Performance Management process, providing constructive feedback and regular evaluations.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

In-depth understanding of existing technical business processes, architecture, pain points, and operations.
Demonstrated experience collaborating across teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Demonstrated people management experience and technical team management skills, having led projects to successful project end and delivery.

  • Experience in large scale technical program/project delivery.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (IT, Engineering) or equivalent technical experience.

Required Certifications
Working Environment

Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.

Physical Demands


Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
