What You Will Do

  • Engage in the development of functional and technical roadmaps for MES COTS/SaaS systems; lead vendor infrastructure architecture requirements while ensuring compliance with H-E-B standards.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and minimize costs associated with hardware and software maintenance.
  • Utilize your comprehensive understanding of various systems and applications to execute implementation, integration, stabilization, and production support transitions.
  • Oversee the design and execution of seamless business processes and system integrations, encompassing both custom-developed and COTS systems.
  • Identify and coordinate intricate technical tasks across multiple domains and teams.
  • Lead the architecture and design of full-stack infrastructure; scope, architect, and deliver complex solutions.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure alignment on technical designs and resource requirements; manage communications with vendors and Operations teams; work with Engineers to implement solutions and resolve issues.
  • Assist in maintaining current tech sustainment items and recommend process and tool enhancements based on industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement domain-specific applications to bridge gaps between large COTS systems; design data routing systems for analytical purposes.
  • Guide team efforts in configuring, enhancing, updating, maintaining, testing, and debugging COTS systems and integrations.
  • Evaluate functional designs and requirements to pinpoint technical risks and challenges.
  • Lead efforts to provide accurate duration and effort estimates; ensure technical teams remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in test planning and case development; identify necessary technical tasks to support testing; ensure SIT/UAT processes are seamless; prepare environments for SIT/UAT execution and training.
  • Create technical documentation and training materials for system enhancements and testing scenarios.
  • Design and implement proactive automated monitoring and alerting solutions; identify engineering tools that enhance systems management.
  • Be available to support the escalation of high-urgency, complex incidents.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, prioritization, and resolution of follow-up actions from significant and recurring incidents.
  • Mentor junior developers in techniques, processes, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify top talent to contribute to the growth of H-E-B Digital Technology.
  • Develop technical roadmaps and lead Systems Developers across multiple squads to achieve project goals.
  • Influence technical decision-making and technology adoption within your domain.

Who You Are

  • You possess 7+ years of experience in COTS/SaaS development and system integration.
  • You have 3+ years of experience with MES applications supporting plant operations.
  • You are knowledgeable in manufacturing architecture.
  • You have experience with Aveva.
  • You hold a relevant degree or possess equivalent formal training, certification, or work experience.
  • You have a proven track record of successfully influencing vendors in systems requirements planning.
  • You are comfortable leading discussions with COTS systems/SaaS vendors' R&D and engineering teams.
  • You exhibit an ownership mentality and a consistent history of delivering high-quality results.
  • You have a foundational understanding of ERP functions and capabilities.
  • You are an expert in systems architecture from a full-stack perspective.
  • You are proficient in multiple programming languages, technologies, and frameworks, and can quickly adapt to new projects.
  • You possess advanced knowledge of a system's tech sustainment factors and their maintenance and support plans.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of enterprise-wide systems integration, even those beyond your immediate responsibilities.
