Job Summary

This position is located in the Departmental Administration, Office of Operations, Mail and Reproduction Management Division, Copier and Duplicating Services Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to manage and direct a staff that analyzes, develops, and promotes improvements in the policies, plans, procedures, and operations of the agency's duplicating management program and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the budgeting and financial management issues and activities for the department, including historical costs.
  • Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the branch.
  • Conduct periodic and comprehensive evaluations of ongoing functions to ensure that the organization meets its stated goals and identifies areas where operational efficiency can be enhanced.
  • Perform long-range planning and analysis of new substantive agency programs.
Requirements
  • You must be a US Citizen or US National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Subject to one year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable.
  • New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.
  • Direct Deposit: Per Public Law all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions and specialized experience, as defined below.

Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

Specialized Experience: At the GS-14, qualifying experience for includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Providing oversight of an organization's program goals and objectives related to print management services for customers.

Evaluating and assessing program services and/or activities, processes, and techniques to develop and implement policies, process improvements and cost savings.

Conducting surveys, studies, and other investigations of areas of program operations to determine the adequacy of present systems and automation.

Assisting with the budget and financial activities to control expenditures, cost efficiencies, obligations, and budget presentations.
