Position Overview:

The Assistant General Counsel I/II will report to the managing corporate counsel for the state regulatory practice group. This position involves working closely with business partners throughout the company to further key business strategies and projects, including matters before the Oregon Public Utility Commission and other regulatory agencies. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel, identify and assess risks, and advocate for company positions. This role offers the opportunity to join a practice group and legal department that values collaboration, creative problem-solving, and results.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel on state and federal regulatory issues

- Identify and assess legal, business, and regulatory risks

- Prepare and review legal documents and provide legal analyses and recommendations

- Represent and advocate for PGE's interests to governmental agencies and third parties

- Select and oversee outside counsel as needed

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Juris Doctor degree

- At least two years of experience practicing in connection with electricity or natural gas state regulatory, litigation, or FERC matters

- Admitted to the Oregon State Bar or able to be admitted within 6 months of employment

Environment:

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements, with a combination of in-office and remote work. However, this may change based on business needs or changes in responsibilities.

Compensation:

Salary range of $112, - $243,

- Performance-based incentive bonus
