About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to join our Addiction Counseling program at PCC. As a faculty member, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the program's mission to provide high-quality education and training in addiction counseling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Addictions Counseling courses, creating engaging course materials and delivering lectures that align with program goals.
  • Ensure compliance with PCC Course Content and Outcome Guides (CCOGs) by aligning course content and assessments with established standards.
  • Teach classes at various times and locations, including day, evening, and online settings, to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Launch and support the Spanish Addictions Counseling certificate program.
  • Conduct office hours to assist students with coursework, provide academic advising, and support their overall success.
  • Use trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices as a foundation in teaching, mentoring, and assessing other faculty.
  • Participate in Subject Area Committee (SAC) activities.
Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline and be a current Certified Addiction Counselor Level II (or equivalent) or a current Certified Prevention Specialist (or equivalent) and have a minimum of five years of experience working with chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations, or
  • A Master's degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline and have a minimum of five years working with chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations, or
  • A Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, human service, human development, sociology, social work or related discipline or a clinical doctorate degree (MD or DO only) and at least one year of working with the chemically or behaviorally addicted or at risk populations or as a researcher in the arena of behavior and/or neuroscience.
