Ardurra is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our growing team in Meridian, ID

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a structural project manager, perform detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity. Responsibilities will include all conventional aspects of design engineering which will include planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Must be a registered Professional or Structural Engineer or able to obtain within 18 months.
  • 5+ years of progressive design experience, bridge experience a plus
  • Understanding of building and material codes, and understand local code requirements
  • General knowledge of engineering design programs and computer aided drafting
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, public, and clients
  • Ability to supervise employees, mentor engineers, and provide input to owners, as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and detailed design of structural steel, concrete and masonry structures for a wide variety of light/heavy industrial and private/commercial building type projects
  • Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with industry and company standards
  • Support multiple projects and complete work within required timeframes
  • Prepares design computations and quantity estimates under supervision
  • Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits, and designs for various projects
  • Assist with client and public meetings
  • Support and mentor staff engineering activities on projects
  • Visits construction sites to monitor progress per the contract documents as required
  • Support marketing efforts with prospective clients
  • Additional duties as assigned
