Senior Robotics Systems Engineer

The primary responsibility of the Senior Robotics Systems Engineer is to spearhead the design and execution of robotic solutions. This role demands a strong dedication to safety, with an emphasis on fostering improvements in design, equipment, and operational practices. Observations of safety violations will be addressed promptly and effectively. Senior Robotics Engineers are expected to provide guidance and may oversee the work of others. They will successfully manage substantial projects and cultivate collaborative relationships across the organization. Expertise in all robotic processes utilized by Woodgrain is essential, and they will serve as a valuable resource for colleagues, offering assistance as needed. Collaboration with various departments is crucial for the development and completion of projects. This position allows for flexibility in working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive design schematics for robotic systems.
  • Source and procure components and materials for control systems.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to install, test, and validate machinery.
  • Adhere to established documentation protocols.
  • Maintain safety compliance throughout all phases of work.
  • Facilitate effective communication during project execution.
  • Oversee large-scale robotics projects.
  • Guide team members in completing control system projects.
  • Lead the engineering department by taking initiative and ownership.
  • Supervise junior engineers and technicians.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Woodgrain's robotic systems.
  • Manage projects with budgets up to $10 million.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a robotics-related field.
  • Thorough understanding of the robotic systems employed by Woodgrain.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships across the company.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with networking and industrial communication protocols.
  • Commitment to maintaining cybersecurity best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Extensive background with Fanuc and ABB robotic systems.
  • Proficient in modeling and simulating robotic operations.
  • Experience in the wood products manufacturing sector.
