As a Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Verifying accurate demographic and financial information
  • Reviewing and interpreting insurance benefits
  • Providing financial counseling and screening
  • Handling charity applications and credit assessments
  • Establishing all financial arrangements and refer appropriate cases to other agencies to assist patients with discharge/post hospital care.
  • Working closely with Patient Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $ hourly.

Qualifications

We're seeking an exceptional, self-directed professional with:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette
  • Bilingual English/Spanish abilities
  • PC proficiency and basic math knowledge
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to and implement changing registration procedures
  • Independent decision-making skills and sound judgment
  • Flexibility in working varied schedules and at a variety of locations when necessary
