Summary

Responsible for the development and ongoing management of the mobile mammography program in Radiology Breast Imaging. The Program Manager will lead and expand the mobile mammography program with the mission to address gaps in breast cancer screening services in underserved communities across the state of Michigan. The Program Manager will play a critical role in facilitating requests, strategic planning, maximizing appointment utilization, and enhancing communication among stakeholders. This individual may assist in developing the program budget, staffing requirements, and operational workflows in collaboration with the Radiology Breast Imaging Department. The Program Manager will be responsible for analyzing, comparing, and evaluating screening mammography data to identify communities in need for services. This individual will report to the Department of Radiology but will also act as a liaison to various partners across the institution.

This is a three-year term-limited position. At the end of this period, the role will be reviewed to assess its necessity and scope.

Responsibilities*
  • Serve as the primary liaison for mobile mammography intake requests and logistics.
  • Ensure efficient communication and coordination between communities and Michigan Medicine.
  • Streamline processes to maximize the unit's capacity to serve the community effectively.
  • Collaborate with Community Outreach and Engagement to Identify target communities and develop outreach strategies.
  • Collaborate with partners to align operational activities with overarching goals.
  • Engage directly with stakeholders to build relationships and trust, maximizing the program's impact.
  • Conduct navigation services and/or partner with facilities to ensure navigation services are in place. This includes identifying patients who are due or overdue, scheduling and addressing barriers such as dependent care and transportation, assisting with insurance, such as enrollment in B3CNP, and providing reminder phone calls.
  • Participate in statewide and regional coalitions and networks, such as the Michigan Cancer Consortium and foster collaborative partnerships.
  • Monitor and analyze appointment utilization data to continuously improve strategies.
  • Act as the central point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring smooth information flow.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and foster strong communication channels to support program success.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the mobile mammography unit in collaboration with the Radiology Breast Imaging Department.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care while adhering to quality standards.
  • Manage schedules, logistics, and resources to optimize efficiency.
  • Monitor program performance and evaluate outcomes against established goals.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, healthcare administration, or a related role
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
Desired Qualifications*
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Experience in Radiology or Breast Imaging services
  • Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures
  • Experience with continuous improvement and LEAN processes
  • Training in high reliability

Additional Information

? This is a term-limited appointment. At the end of the term, the appointment will terminate and will not be eligible for Reduction in Force (RIF) Benefits
