An Electrical Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Peoria, IL area. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment for heavy machinery, focusing on maintenance, new tooling creation, and troubleshooting, while also requiring collaboration with engineering teams and suppliers.

Design, develop, and test electrical equipment for heavy equipment use, including machinery controls and wiring.

Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability, and safety of design models.

Estimate time and cost for project completion.

Simulate and test system operation.

Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products. Skills:

Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.

Team player and detail oriented.

Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.

Previous experience with computer applications and design software (ex. Autocad Electrical, PLC coding, etc.) related to engineering field. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering desired.

2-4 years of hands-on experience required.
