Job Description

The Excess and Reinsurance division of the Underwriting Solutions unit of Verisk Analytics is looking for an Analyst, responsible for assisting with actuarial and other products for all lines of business and being involved in a variety of production and special projects.

Responsibilities
  • Development, enhancement, and maintenance of code and formulae behind various actuarial products in various platforms.
  • Provide data visualization in dashboard formats.
  • Experience or aptitude to analyze significant amounts of data for pattern recognition, correlations, statistical indicators, etc.
  • Provide technical support and training for clients for installation and usage of products.
  • Provide efficient delivery of products to clients.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Development, enhancement, and maintenance of code and formulae behind various actuarial products in various platforms.
  • Provide data visualization in dashboard formats.
  • Experience or aptitude to analyze significant amounts of data for pattern recognition, correlations, statistical indicators, etc.
  • Provide technical support and training for clients for installation and usage of products.
  • Provide efficient delivery of products to clients.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in mathematics, actuarial science, economics, computer science, or related quantitative fields.
  • 1 or 2 actuarial exams passed are a plus, with candidates with strong data science or analytic skills strongly considered.
  • Relevant internship experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with insurance coverages, actuarial methodologies, and quality control. Reinsurance experience is a plus.
  • Technical background should include strong Microsoft Office skills, with Microsoft Excel familiarity preferred.
  • Technical background should include strong programming ability with Tableau, SQL, VBA, and Python a plus.
  • Good oral, and written communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adjust plans in the face of changing priorities.
  • Continued desire and ability to learn.
