How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

The Transit Information Senior Project Administrator will provide leadership and management of key customer information projects for Metro Transit, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing out projects. Transit Information Senior Project Administrators will develop project timelines and budgets and serve as Metro Transit's management resource within customer information project content areas. Additionally, they will coordinate the work of internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to ensure successful completion of projects.


What you would do in this job
  • Develop and manage portfolio of customer information projects.
  • Support development of the Transit Information annual work plan.
  • Communicate project goals, timelines, deliverables, and project status to broader audience at Metro Transit, Metropolitan Council, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers and internal stakeholders across all Metro Transit and Met Council divisions.
  • Help grow project management knowledge and skills within Transit Information and across Metro Transit.
  • Develop standard project management templates and documentation to ensure Transit Information project work conforms to internal and external project management best practices.

What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)

Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in project/contract management and completed education in Urban or Transportation planning, Business Administration or a related field:

  • High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience
  • Associate degree with six (6) years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with four (4) years of experience
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or comparable certification(s); completion of Project Management training(s).
  • Experience using public transportation and transit information tools.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, execute, and delegate project tasks.
  • Experience mentoring and training around project management methodologies and principles.
  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Experience contributing to an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values cultural diversity among all employees.
What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Skills in detail-orientation.
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, MS PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
