GSK is hiring a passionate and process driven Tax Manager in their US Tax Operations team The Tax Manager will perform a wide range of tax related functions including but not limited to assisting with the Company's corporate tax returns and tax provision calculations, development and implementation of various tax planning strategies, growing and developing staff members and aiding with audit responses to various taxing authorities. Ideally this Tax Manager will look to be a champion of process improvements and automation by using tools such as OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, Power BI, and SAP.

An ideal candidate has a strong understanding of federal, state & local, and international tax laws and analyzing/interpreting changes to tax laws as necessary. The candidate should also have strong communication skills.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Manage outside service providers in the preparation, review and timely filing of US and Puerto Rico tax returns, estimated payments, etc. for federal, state & local, and international taxes.
  • Responsibility of various aspects of US income tax provision process in accordance with IFRS standards including current/deferred tax provisions, rate reconciliations, valuation allowance analyses, tax roll forwards, and recording of complex transactions.
  • Manage integration workstreams for business acquisitions from a compliance and reporting workstream.
  • Identify, track and record potential financial statement risks or issues on a quarterly basis.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation of tax accounts and work with off-shore support teams for any necessary reclass entries.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with formulating responses and support for audit requests from federal, state & local tax authorities.
  • Analyze and determine the tax implications of federal and state tax law changes, assist in evaluating and implementing tax planning strategies, business transactions and other ad hoc requests.
  • Develop and grow staff members.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives using tools such as Alteryx, to reduce manual efforts associated with tax compliance using enabled tools; while also managing structure maintained within OneSource Tax Provision.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in Corporate Income Tax (business taxes)
  • Experience with Financial reporting systems (Such as SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MS in Taxation or pursuing such degree a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • Experience with tax research software (RIA or CCH) a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Alteryx or Power BI
  • Experience with Tax reporting tools (Such as OneSource Tax Provision software)
  • Good problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated good team interaction skills
  • Ability to multitask
