Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Planning Business Leader based in our Texas market area.

Our U.S. planning & asset management business has seen consistent growth driven by our clients' needs to address challenges stemming from population growth, aging infrastructure, system reliability and resilience concerns, the need to improve operational efficiency, water quality regulations, and the lack of effective tools to leverage massive amounts of data and help guide decision making. This leadership position represents a strategic business opportunity for Black & Veatch's Distribution & Collection System Planning team to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class water & wastewater infrastructure planning services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for our water distribution and wastewater collection planning business in the Texas and Oklahoma market area and beyond
  • Provide technical solutions and differentiation for the Distribution & Collection System Planning team focused on water & wastewater infrastructure hydraulic modeling and system planning
  • Evaluation of water and wastewater system's capacity, condition, resilience, operating efficiency, and water quality
  • Analysis and projections of water demands and wastewater flows
  • Use of risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs
  • Integration of condition assessment and asset management data into system master planning and to directly support replacement & renewal planning
  • Use of cutting-edge hydraulic modeling, GIS, asset management, and data visualization software to help solve client issues
  • Provide project execution and technical leadership support for our planning and asset management projects in Texas, Oklahoma, and other market areas throughout the US
  • Provide technical leadership to support marketing and business development in our Texas and Oklahoma market area and beyond
  • Work closely with Client Directors to leverage existing and build new relationships with clients and decision makers in the Texas and Oklahoma market area and beyond
  • Lead and/or support pursuit, proposal, and project interview activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with technical and thought leadership surrounding water and wastewater infrastructure systems
  • Experience in client-facing roles
  • 7+ years of infrastructure assessment experience including hydraulic modeling, master planning, condition assessment, asset management, and data analysis
  • Experience managing planning project, leading technical tasks and project teams, and executing water distribution and wastewater collection system studies and assessments that involve system operations modeling, optimization techniques, risk & resiliency evaluations, capital and life-cycle cost analyses, CIP prioritization
  • Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience in developing proposals and leading technical discussions during client interviews/projects
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and software (i.e. ArcGIS)
  • Capable in MSWord, MSExcel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient with data analyses and analytics
  • Familiarity of dynamic data visualization software such as PowerBI
  • Experience and/or familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as:
    • InfoWorks ICM and WS
    • WaterGEMS
    • InfoWater
    • EPANet
    • EPASWMM
    • PCSWMM
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
