Overview

This position is responsible for protecting all Osage Casino assets and maintaining the integrity of gaming in the Osage Casinos utilizing all Surveillance equipment and floor observations. This employee is responsible for the supervisor of all surveillance staff. The Employee must perform all duties in accordance with the internal policies, procedures and controls, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations.

This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a Bachelors degree or 5 years of Surveillance experience.
  • Previous casino experience required.
  • Preferred experience in Surveillance, gaming-related casino experience, law enforcement, military, or civilian security services.
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs, data entry, and Internet.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to maintain a valid Drivers License.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.
  • Osage, Native American, and Veteran preference shall apply to all positions at Osage Casinos.

Responsibilities

GUEST SERVICE

  • Provides excellent internal and external guest services, treating internal and external guests with courtesy and consideration at all times.
  • Cooperates and communicates with all fellow employees, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.

COMMUNICATION

  • Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
  • Reviews shift reports, bulletins, e-mails and other forms of communication to ensure that all job duties are met.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

  • Monitors all relevant activities of the department, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the organization, and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Osage Nation Gaming Commission (ONGC) are understood and enforced by department personnel.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Nation, internal policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language. Read professional publications, industry magazines/ journals, newsletters and documents.
  • Present facts and recommendations in oral and written form. Prepare written reports and correspondence to upper management as required. Excellent report writing skills, detail-oriented, proper grammar and spelling final reports must be admissible in court.
  • Perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
  • Must have the ability to learn, or possess prior knowledge, of all casino games, as well as casino related department procedures and various Federal, State and Tribal regulations.
  • Must have a working knowledge of data entry programs, utilize MS Office products at basic (create new documents, open/edit existing documents) to intermediate (import/export data, create templates) skill level, and the internet.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Protect the Companys value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform assigned tasks under limited supervision. Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job duties and responsibilities.

  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents Osage Casinos.
  • Requires familiarity with the concepts of project and planning management.
  • Conducts investigations into all relevant casino related activities through the use of Electronic Surveillance systems.
  • Create and maintain work schedules at multiple sites and provide scheduling using multiple employees at multiple casino sites, thus, determining staffing adequacy between Tier A, B, and C facilities when necessary.
  • Conducts all Performance Evaluations for all Site Supervisors and assists in all Personnel Matters requiring additional Supervision as requested by Site Supervisors.
  • Prepares and monitors Surveillance budget.
  • Operates all Surveillance equipment with a high degree of skill, including but not limited to DVRs, NVRs, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, cameras and digital recording devices.
  • Drafts and reviews reports pertaining to observed activities as well as logs and other records, as needed.
  • Conducts observations of all departments and applicable job functions to assure compliance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Reviews and approves payroll time reports, shift reports, bulletins, E-mails, and other forms of communication to ensure that all payroll requirements and job duties are met.
  • Supervises the activities of the Surveillance Site Supervisory staff.
  • Communicates as liaison between the Commission Director and the Surveillance Site Supervisors concerning all important activities of the Casino Operations.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and Osage Casinos policies.
  • Conducts accurate surveillance MICS audits.
  • Enforces Osage Casino Company policies and procedures as well as Federal, State and Tribal regulations, compacts and internal controls through the observation and reporting of relevant events.
  • Reports incidents of sexual harassment, unfair labor practices, abuse, waste, unsafe working conditions and other Human Resource issues to management.
  • Effectively communicates concerns and other information to supervisors and listens to communication from supervisors.
  • Directly supervises the activities of the Surveillance Site Supervisory staff.
  • Communicates with the Surveillance Manager concerning all important activities of the Surveillance Department.
  • Ensures that Surveillance Site Supervisors and Surveillance Officers receive adequate training as needed per regulations with the assistance of the Human Resources Training Department.
  • Conducts coaching/counseling sessions with Surveillance employees as needed.
  • Conducts regular inspections to ensure that all Regulatory requirements are being met by the Surveillance Department.
  • Ensures that the Surveillance equipment is functional and ensures malfunctions are logged according to policy.
  • Acts as a representative of the Surveillance Department with Casino Department managers, Tribal, State and Federal regulators.
  • Reviews the work product of the Surveillance Department to include Reviews, Incident reports, Audits, Training, Coaching, Logs and other records.
  • Ensures that all schedules, timesheets, Personnel leave reports, FMLA documents, and other Human Resource related materials are correct and regularly processed.
  • Interviews and hires staff, and ensures that the Department is producing a good work product.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned by CEO.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch while performing duties.
  • Must have normal auditory and good verbal communication.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly uses personal computer systems and/or other devices to effectively perform job functions.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Evening and weekend shifts may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
  • Attends regular training conferences and seminars that address surveillance updates and changes, applicable laws and mandates.
