Summary


The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the newly established Grid Performance Center (GPC), a distribution and transmission focused group that works to improve the management of growing data requirements to meet stakeholder business needs such as availability, integrity, and standards.

The GPC is also responsible for providing grid analytics and insights using reporting, monitoring, and the trending of grid data.

What You'll Do

  • Implement action plans, provide technical direction, ensure department engineering and design work is technically sound and cost effective, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget commitments.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including Distribution and Transmission groups, ITS, Power Delivery Technology Services (PDTS), Protection Automation & Control (PAC), and Telecommunications Services.
  • Select and develop a high performing, multi disciplined team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training, and developmental opportunities.
  • Participate in the creation of models, data sources, and tool requirements needed to improve the data discipline and grid analytics and insights of the grid.
  • Skilled at finding and understanding the correct data and sources (such as PI (SCADA), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data, Power Quality or PMU data, Geographic Information System (GIS) data, and Customer Information System (CIS) data) for a given analysis.
  • Turns business requirements into technical requirements, data designs, models, and solutions with the embedded IT development team.
  • Develop recommendations to SRP leadership and executive management positions on critical issues and strategies for implementation.
  • Active leadership role in promoting safety within department.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Experience

Minimum of 8 years cumulative and progressive exempt level professional experience.

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Hybrid Workplace


SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week.

Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
