As the Vice President of Engineering Program Management, you will oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to launch and subsequent iterations. You will tailor processes to accommodate the evolving needs of the organization, ensuring flawless execution and delivery while balancing customer expectations with business goals.

Our products serve law enforcement, consumers, and society at large, making it essential to navigate the complexities and trade-offs necessary to deliver the highest quality products.

Your Responsibilities

Location: Scottsdale, AZ office - On site
Reports to: SVP of R&D Hardware Engineering
Direct Reports: 3-5 Directs with a total team of 15

  • Strategic Leadership and Lifecycle Management: Develop and implement strategic roadmaps for hardware initiatives. Oversee the entire lifecycle of hardware products from conception to market introduction and phase-out. Manage the framework within which our products are created.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership and Operational Integration: Direct and unify cross-disciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, industrial design, software, firmware, and manufacturing, to execute product development workflows. Ensure alignment between product strategies and operational capabilities for cohesive and efficient execution.
  • Financial Oversight and Resource Allocation: Supervise and distribute budgets and resources across hardware initiatives. Ensure alignment with financial objectives and the effective utilization of operating and capital expenditures.
  • Portfolio Management and Prioritization: Oversee the complete portfolio of hardware projects. Establish priorities and resolve conflicts to guarantee the timely completion of essential tasks and objectives.
  • Team Development and Organizational Leadership: Cultivate and mentor high-performing teams. Promote a culture of autonomy and excellence, driving organizational growth and process enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Engagement: Maintain robust relationships with stakeholders, including executive leadership. Communicate effectively regarding program progress, challenges, and strategic directions.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to conduct trade-off analyses and address complex product development challenges. Exhibit adaptability and problem-solving capabilities to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and foster innovative solutions.
Your Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in program management within hardware development.
  • 5+ years of experience in establishing processes, project management, and scheduling.
  • 5+ years of experience in budget management and creation.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles and development processes.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical/engineering issues.
  • Proficient in identifying and resolving conflicts, interdependencies, and program challenges efficiently.
