POSITION DUTIES

The Alcohol and Drug Certified\r
Associate Counselor, Supervisor�provides�administrative and\r
supervision, and leadership to the A/D Associate Counselors�responsible\r
for assessing�all incoming inmates in a designated institution for\r
substance abuse problems and to provide counseling, intervention, and treatment\r
and rehabilitation services to those inmates with substance abuse disorder(s).\r
This may also include inmates that are dually diagnosed.\r
�\r
Such services may include, but are not limited\r
to, the following:\r
�\r
��Supervise and evaluate the work of addiction counselors, to\r
include client record reviews and monitor the administration of treatment\r
services. Insure compliance with COMAR standards for substance abuse treatment.\r
Provide corrective recommendations for improving skills in the administration\r
of substance abuse counseling services\r
��Assign tasks to addiction counselors related to data collection,\r
reports, and the administration of substance abuse services\r
��Conduct meetings to review and recommend changes in procedures\r
for substance use disorder assessments and counseling interventions\r
��Review assessments completed assure scoring accuracy\r
��Assist the Regional Supervisor in the implementation of\r
substance use disorder services that comply with the department's strategy for\r
providing services\r
��Review clinical files to ensure completed documentation within\r
the required timeframe\r
��Maintain contact with internal and external resources such as\r
community based addiction providers in support of providing aftercare services\r
��Participate in continued professional development through\r
educational training.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1.�In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations , candidates placed in this classification must be either certified�by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Professional Counselor-Alcohol and Drug. � \r
2.�Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.� Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.��\r

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1.
