Our counseling professionals deliver empathetic, high-quality counseling and therapy to individuals pursuing recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Your Role as an Addiction Recovery Counselor:
The Addiction Recovery Counselor plays a vital role in the treatment and recovery journey of our patients facing opioid use disorder.

These counselors offer compassionate, high-quality care through various methods, including both individual and group therapy sessions.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver compassionate and high-quality guidance in both individual and group therapy sessions.

Plan, manage, facilitate, and document patient recovery processes.

Co-facilitate assigned group or family therapy sessions as necessary.

Ensure timely and clear documentation of all patient care, treatment, and incidents.

Develop individualized treatment plans for each assigned patient.

Conduct initial assessments and follow-up evaluations.

Assess patient needs and determine if referrals to additional programs or facilities are required.

Plan aftercare for assigned patients as needed.

Provide crisis intervention to patients when necessary.

Manage case responsibilities for patients, ensuring personalized quality care.

Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients as required.


Compensation for positions at Cumberland Comprehensive Treatment Center varies based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific location, role, skill set, and experience level.

As mandated by local law, Cumberland Comprehensive Treatment Center provides a reasonable hourly compensation range for roles that may be filled in Maryland as outlined below.

Qualifications:

Required Education, Skills, and

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in social or health services field, with 2+ years of experience in counseling;

Bachelor's degree in social or health services field, with 2+ years of experience in counseling; or a bachelor's degree in another field with 4+ years in the counseling field;

Master's degree in social or health services field, with 1 year of professional work experience;

Degree must be from an accredited institution.

Preferred Skills and

Qualifications:

Prior experience in an addiction recovery setting is preferred

Knowledge of MAT (medication-assisted treatment) is required, hands-on experience preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
CSC-AD (preferred)

CAC-AD (preferred)

Addictions Counselor Trainee Letter/ADT (preferred)

LGPC/LGADC

LCPC/LCADC
