This critical leadership role is integral in delivering on our cloud modernization transformation and bolstering our security posture. It has responsibility for leading the Public Cloud Engineering Team within Enterprise Technology Infrastructure and Platform Services (ETIPS). ETIPS is accountable for increasing public cloud adoption, modernizing our contact center platform, improving the digital workplace experience, accelerating non-integrated entities integration and excellence as well as enterprise engineering tools.

This role sits within the Cloud Platforms function and leads the enterprise public cloud engineering and cloud architecture teams to improve our speed to market, innovate on the cloud, drive security, and operational best practices. This role also defines the enterprise-wide system design, platforms, and technology choices enabling public cloud architecture and engineering. This role will drive best in class practices for scaling the modern cloud agenda across enterprise lines of business and manage highly matrixed stakeholder engagements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the enterprise public cloud engineering and cloud architecture teams to improve our speed to market, innovate on the cloud, drive security, and operational best practices.
  • Define the enterprise-wide system design, platforms, and technology choices enabling public cloud architecture and engineering.
  • Develop best in class practices for scaling the modern cloud agenda across enterprise lines of business and manage highly matrixed stakeholder engagements.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and technical stakeholders to align data strategies with overall business goals.
  • Solve business problems, create value, and achieve business results with an end-to-end constituent experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Drive initiatives contributing to the achievement of the organization's objectives and technological advancements.
  • Lead a team of 200+ employees including a team of senior engineering leaders.
  • Contribute to business and technology strategy as a member of the ETIPS leadership team.
  • Continually drive innovation and deliver creative, empowering solutions to business challenges by applying modern technology and best practices
  • Leverage a nimble, flexible, responsive, and customer-centric technology model.
  • Partner with and guide cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions from concept through launch.
  • Lead technology integration and simplification initiatives.
  • Serve as a progressive enterprise talent steward and champion, relentlessly committing to attracting, coaching, developing, leveraging, recognizing, rewarding, mobilizing, and retaining exceptional talent.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 + years of Technical Program Management
  • Direct experience leading large scale, complex Cloud transformation
  • Experience with enterprise public cloud engineering and public cloud architecture
  • Knowledge of best-in-class practices for scaling a modern cloud agenda across enterprise lines
  • Deep financial acumen, including financial transformation from on prem to cloud
  • Experiences with: Infrastructure Modernization; Vendor Management; Software Lifecycle Management and Vulnerability Management
  • Experience leading teams of 100+ employees, including a team of senior engineering leaders
  • Proven ability to lead through influence
  • Demonstrated collaboration and relationship building abilities
  • Stakeholder management & executive presence
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field or 10 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
