JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:

Operate and maintain systems associated with a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility while demonstrating safety awareness and direction that will continuously improve performance by employees and contractors through the use and strict adherence to procedures and processes.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain regulatory compliance and be proactive in dealing with all agencies and avoid reportable violations.
  • Required participation in the multi-year Production Technician multi skill progression plan to develop key skills in maintenance and operations. Upon completion the employee should have the desire, aptitude and ability to meet board operator qualifications.
  • Conduct and participate in job briefings and safety meetings. Be responsible for Contractor Safety and conduct Contractor Safety Orientations as needed.
  • Applies understanding and knowledge of plant systems, plant drawings, hydraulics, regulating devices, rotating equipment, personal computers, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Operational duties include, but not limited to, operating the control board, making operational rounds, performing PM/PDM activities, HRSG water chemistry, CEMS monitoring and calibrations.
  • Applies skills to perform inspections, installations, repairs, diagnostics, testing and troubleshooting of complex mechanical equipment and perform PM's of mechanical systems in a CCGT facility, alone and as part of a team. Assist in inspection, repair and installation of instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Additional Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safe and reliable operations during commissioning and normal operations after the plant's commercial operation date.
  • Responsible for the assisting site team with program build out and adherence to processes/programs associated with a newly designed and constructed Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant.
  • Duties will include design, develop, implement, and continually evaluate programs for which they are responsible for by utilizing metrics and review of key results.
  • This position is responsible for supporting the operations team that will participate in pre-commercial commissioning activities, engage with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners to ensure highest standards are deployed, and assume control/ownership of the site at the commercial operations milestone date.
  • Utilize prior lessons learned and site pre-commissioning lessons learned to refine and improve operating procedures, training plans, unit operating and bid parameters, alarm management, surveillance testing, work management strategies, and all Operations/Maintenance fundamentals.
  • Responsible for networking with EPC partners and the project team to meet commissioning/testing schedules and resource needs.
  • Ensures all site commissioning and testing reports and turnover packages are received and stored in accordance with the records management policy.
  • Responsible to successfully complete all OEM and EPC training classes required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

  • 2 Year Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Production/Process Technology, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Production Technician III: 0 - 2 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 4 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
  • Production Technician II - I: 2 - 5 years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 5 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.
  • Production Technician CRO: 5+ years of experience in a CCGT facility in an Operations or Maintenance position; OR 10 years of power plant operations/maintenance/electrical experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with CCGT Technology.
  • 2-3 years of Industrial/Power Plant experience.
  • Commissioning experience.
  • Applicable Operations and Maintenance experience/skills.

Minimum Skills:

  • Must be good at communicating, both verbal and written, the results of evaluation of assignments to supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend P&ID's, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Strong computer literacy with a preference for skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Minimum Certifications/Licensing/Testing:

  • Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS Test.
