Your Work

VirtaMed's new Director, Account Management will focus on driving sales through solution-oriented and expert consulting. Your goal will be to acquire projects and generate product sales from new and existing clients in the Medical Device industry.

You will be responsible for aspects of creating, generating and maintaining business relationships with medical device and pharmaceutical companies where simulation training can be of value. You will identify and prioritize medical device and pharma companies as potential key accounts for VirtaMed. You will maintain an understanding of market developments and requirements for medical device companies and be familiar with their company structures and decision-making paths. You will be able to pinpoint how VirtaMed's custom simulation solutions can meet their needs for professional education and training. You will work closely with local management and product development to create a proposed solution.

This role reports to the VP of Global Account, MedTech based in the US. You will receive support from the US team as well as the Swiss team headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

Your Profile

Our ideal candidate will:

Have a minimum of 10 years sales experience in the following areas:

Selling to Medical Device and Pharma companies as a supplier or partner

Experience selling into and navigating Fortune 500 companies

New business development in medical device companies; experience in prospecting, opportunity identification, and account-based selling

Consultative selling, creating value-based custom solutions for customers with longer sales cycles

Proven track record of sales attainment, revenue growth, and account development

History of maintain existing clients in a targeted manner, building up new contacts into significant business relationships

Applied knowledge and experience in the training of medical professionals

Experience working for a medical device company in Marketing, Professional Education or Sales is a plus

Experience in networking with key opinion leaders in the field of surgery

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of sales experience

Very strong communicator with an ability to sell the value of custom solutions

Excellent time management skills, well organized, detail oriented and works well under pressure

Self-driven, self-starter with a sense of urgency

Excellent negotiation skills and demonstrated listening skills

Strong collaborator willing to help organization and customers connect different stakeholders and roles

Innovative and visionary person, passionate about learning new things

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. A passport is also required

Accountability:

New business opportunities, responsible manager for all of all aspects of creating, generating and maintaining business relationships with medical device companies where simulation training can be of value. Measured in terms of new sales opportunities created, closed and projects prospected.

Existing business opportunities: responsible manager for existing medical device companies to ensure that current products and simulators are being used to their full potential and to generate new business opportunities within these companies, either through continued and renewed selling of existing products or through new project and simulator generation.

Responsible for overall Revenue growth of specific VirtaMed's Medtech Target Accounts via B2B engagement. Expected growth will be exclusive of all sales to hospitals, training institutions or medical societies.

Grow Revenue by Increasing the share of wallet with existing Targeted Customers across specific business segments (eg.: Medical Device, Surgical Robotics and Pharmaceutical)

Grow Revenue by targeting & winning new Medtech customers.

You will drive and manage the creation of new projects with customers to further develop and enhance VirtaMed's product offering.

You will manage and oversee the generation and negotiation of sales contracts with medical device companies, ensuring the influencers and buying centers of each potential customer has been reached.

You will gather and oversee information about market trends and needs whilst coordinating any actions required by the R&D department.

You will drive the marketing and sales strategy in line with the company's overall marketing and sales plan, ensuring the targeted goals are met.

You will oversee the organization and attendance of various tradeshows and conferences.
