Position Overview:
The Trust Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing trust accounting and fund operations while ensuring alignment with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the trust accounting team, embodying leadership principles that reflect the organization’s values and mission.
- Foster employee development through performance evaluations, goal setting, training initiatives, and positive employee relations.
- Ensure the quality and efficiency of work produced, meeting established internal service level agreements, and holding team members accountable for their performance.
- Supervise internal processes, policies, and procedures to guarantee compliance with client expectations, emerging developments, regulations, and reporting obligations.
- Address escalated trust accounting challenges for clients and customers.
- Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with management, staff, clients, government entities, unions, participants, legal representatives, and consultants.
- Review financial statements prepared by staff for accuracy prior to client distribution.
- Manage year-end audits in collaboration with external CPA firms, necessitating problem-solving skills.
- Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Working Environment:
The role requires a standard level of physical effort in a typical office setting, characterized by comfortable temperatures and minimal distractions. Occasional interruptions may occur, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs may be required. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary based on workflow demands, and adherence to attendance and punctuality standards is expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
- Management experience is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel and Microsoft Word.
