Your Impact at SAM

A Survey Project Manager is responsible for the oversight and reporting of budgets and utilization of resources. This role is the key point of contact between SAM and clients. Geomatics Project Managers oversee the day-to-day operations of field staff and office staff for multiple land survey projects, including, the tracking of deliverables. They are responsible for proposal writing, business development, and staff development.

  • Manage transportation land survey projects from start to finish, while ensuring services meet company quality standards and client specification
  • TXDOT. County, state-wide, municipal roadways, and education projects
  • Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
  • Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts
  • Sign and seal plats, field notes and control drawings if required
  • Work with a team of 3 Project Managers, 8 Technicians, and 8 Field Crews
  • Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple land survey projects
  • Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships
  • Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders
  • Manage and report financial status including AR/WIP and billing cycles
  • Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed

What You Bring to SAM

  • Texas RPLS or ability to obtain RPLS within 1 year
  • 5+ years of industry related work experience in a management capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects
  • Experienced in writing proposals and request for qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members and clients
  • Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite
  • Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
