Job Description

He/she must insure 'quality of event' for the product development process for products related to their customer group, being the primary responsible AQT Engineer from GW1 through GW8.5, and secondary responsible AQT Engineer after GW8.5. Improves and maintains customer satisfaction, by interfacing with customers and production facilities, to maintain / improve product quality during Testing, and at Launch. Performs a variety of engineering studies and analysis, to implement plans and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for products. Establishes quality procedures and standards, and coordinates training.

Primary Responsibilities – Includes, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establishes customer contact through visitations, telephone calls, and other means available, to obtain customer concerns and issues, and dissemination of concerns to appropriate departments and facilities.
  • Functions as Customer Representative, ensuring that customer requirements are addressed (e.g. selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related timing, product design and development, corrective and preventive actions).
  • Assists design engineering to complete and ensure quality content of engineering disciplines, procedures, and processes in the product development phase, to maximize product reliability and quality.
  • Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data, concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Maintains records of customer concerns and corrective actions during development, testing, and at Launch.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, during development, testing, and at Launch; assesses cost and responsibility.

  • Initiate 8Ds, 5 Phases, Root Cause Analysis for every issue that arises during validation phase & report out to customer
  • Compile lessons learned, and communicate lessons learned to Manufacturing in preparation for product launch
  • Customer contact will be technical (not involving commercial matters), normally at engineer, engineer's supervisor level, or above.
  • The jobholder is expected to behave as an ambassador for Kostal.

Qualifications

  • 4-year Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • ASPICE experience in everyday work

Relevant experience in all of the following:

  • Problem solving skills and experience
  • Involvement in team work internally and with the customer
  • Leading of problem solving teams
  • Work experience under a similar type of high volume and pressure environment like automotive.
