Position Overview: This role is vital in maintaining the highest quality and reliability standards for our clients. You will act as the key contact between service locations (primarily automotive OEMs) and their suppliers, spearheading continuous improvement efforts and addressing quality-related challenges promptly and effectively. This position demands strong technical knowledge, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with supplier and service location personnel, acting as the primary contact for quality-related inquiries.
  • Perform regular audits and evaluations of supplier components at service locations to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set and achieve supplier quality performance goals.
  • Propose initiatives, including process enhancements and corrective action strategies, to improve product quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Quickly identify, isolate, communicate, and resolve quality concerns.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for customer quality issues.
  • Comprehend service location processes and their impact on customer components.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and service location personnel, assisting in overcoming quality-related obstacles and implementing best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory standards, and technological advancements in manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Effectively communicate with customer and service location teams, including engineering, quality, logistics, procurement, and production, to ensure alignment on quality goals and expectations.
  • Identify leads and create new business opportunities for the company.
  • Document and update records, audits, issues, contacts, components, and supplier information in software systems.
  • Utilize quality management systems and tools, including ISO, TS 16949, and AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
  • Promote a strong work ethic and exemplify the company's core values, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all customer and service location requirements, including health/safety training and vaccination status.
  • Exhibit proficiency in technology, including smartphones, tablets, computers, mobile applications, web-based software, typing, data entry, spreadsheets, and video conferencing systems.
  • Utilize written and verbal communication skills effectively with diverse groups, including proficiency in telephone communication.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with company team members, clients, service locations, and the public for the purpose of explanation, interpretation, technical assistance, and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to drive supplier quality enhancements and cost reductions.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Show exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrate solid project and time management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibit proficiency in quality analysis tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate skill in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.).
  • Travel to company facilities, customer locations, or alternate service locations as required. Must be able to drive on behalf of the company and/or clients if necessary.
  • Occasional participation in events outside of regular hours may be necessary, including meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities.
  • Maintain flexibility to work additional hours as needed during peak periods or to meet deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing work demands and schedules, including occasional mandatory overtime, compensated according to company policies and local labor laws.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (2/3 or more of the workday) and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others for extended periods (2/3 or more of the workday).
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate smartphones, keyboards, hand tools, and measurement devices.
  • Keen eyesight to read small print/text/figures and identify quality defects (including in low-light situations).
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Employment for this position is contingent on the individual obtaining and maintaining all company, customer, and service location requirements (including vaccination status), which may be subject to change at any time.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be and remain eligible to be issued a passport for any required international travel/training
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a manufacturing-related field
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or supplier quality assurance
