Job Summary

Help play an important role in the health of Minnesotans by supporting the work of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Division at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) This exciting, temporary Student Worker opportunity will consist of data cleaning, data analysis, and creating products.

Working as a Data Analysis & Scientific Writing Student Worker you will:
  • Analyze and summarize qualitative data to support storytelling projects.
  • Assist to develop deliverables such as reports, fact sheets, infographics, briefs, and other products that will help advance the work of public health preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Participate in workgroup meetings, review data outputs, and assist with revisions suggested by content experts.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicated the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
  • Completion of at least 2-3 years of post-secondary education related to data analysis, data management or scientific writing.
  • Must be enrolled in a degree seeking post-secondary or graduate program.
  • Experience with researching writing, and summarizing information.
Minimum qualifications to be assesses during the interview process:
  • Communication skills sufficient to present ideas and projects with stakeholders.
  • Ability to write formal reports, research papers, or technical documentation and analysis results.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data entry and data management.
  • Qualitative analysis training or skills.
  • Public health education.
  • Previous public health experience.
