Vaco has partnered with a client in Noblesville, IN to hire a full time Accounts Payable Staff Accountant. This person will need to work onsite.
The A/P Accountant is a core member of the Finance Team. This role's primary function is the processing of daily accounting transactions including. This position will also be responsible for tracking fixed asset activity and will work closely with the CFO with opportunities to further develop processes within our rapidly growing company. The ideal Accountant will have experience with full cycle AR/AP accounting and the willingness to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process daily check deposits
- Process full cycle Accounts Payable
- Respond to vendor inquiries timely (e.g., payment discrepancies, account changes)
- Assist with month-end tasks
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Work with facilities teams to maintain accurate records and movement of fixed assets
- Process purchase requisitions
- Processing payroll and final review and employee changes
- Understand and adhere to all internal control processes and responsibilities
- Backup for AR dept.
Job Requirements:
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Excel skills - ability to do Pivot Tables, Vlookups, etc.
- Strong accounting background/experience with the following
- Journal Entries
- Account Reconciliation:
- Expense Tracking
- ERP General Ledger Use: Account Download and Reconciliation
- Journal Entries
- Some experience completing period end close accounting tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Sage experience a plus but not required
