As part of our Closed Area Infrastructure team, you will help engineer and implement the IT infrastructure and standards supporting our closed areas, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure.

Location: Manchester, NH (Hybrid)

In this role you will:

  • Act as the focal point for bringing modernized, cloud native compute technologies into BAE closed area environments ranging from large, multi-site networks to small air-gapped environments
  • Work with engineering to refine requirements into an IT plan related to modernization and DevSecOps needs to include modernized workloads, cloud native computing, on premise cloud, containerization, etc.
  • Identify gaps in technologies and propose solutions to meet future needs
  • Work with the IT Closed Area Operations and Platform Engineering groups to execute plan
  • Document "as is" state of servers and VMs including projected EOL and replacement plans
  • Plan for what VMs will migrate to cloud and/or Kubernetes
  • Provide close coordination with security -- ISSE's, ISSM's, ISSO's -- ensuring compliance and auditability
  • Plan for redundancy and high availability
  • Create a comprehensive disaster recovery plan
  • Provide vendor management
  • #sysadmin

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 6-10+ years of experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification within 60-days of hire
  • Significant experience with one or more Linux or UNIX operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, Solaris, etc.)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts
  • Experience with Kubernetes and other containerization technologies
  • Experience with Ansible and Ansible playbooks
  • Experience working in a GitLab environment
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, vCenter, and vSphere
  • Experience with NetApp and/or MinIO
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Hands on system administration experience with both Linux and Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Strong communication skills and technical writing abilities
  • Familiarity with cost and schedule planning
  • Occasional off-hour response to outages and subsequent service restoration efforts is required
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Focus on project execution and completion including removing roadblocks
  • Previous customer engagement experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working in a Dell VxRail HCI environment
  • May be required to lift up to 40 pounds and move into positions either standing or kneeling that require connecting computing equipment for use

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $ $232210

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
