The Washington Post's FP&A department is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with expertise in financial modeling, planning, and analysis. This role requires advanced FP&A skills but also a sense of creativity and curiosity in the constantly evolving operation of a digital media business with a focus on supporting lines of business revenue planning and analysis. This role serves at the intersection of revenue and journalism to help support and shape audience growth.

The desired candidate will be self-sufficient and self-directed in managing their assigned FP&A responsibilities, connect details to the big picture, and communicate timely business insights to inform management decision making. This role will be reporting to News FP&A Manager but is expected to support multiple FP&A managers on monetization and news initiatives and needs to be able to prioritize simultaneous projects accordingly.

Support Newsroom-driven initiatives and financial analysesBecome familiar with our Growth B2C and B2B business lines to lend additional bandwidth for planning and analysis tasksConduct tactical, project-based financial analyses for multiple FP&A managers in real timeSupport finance leaders in building scalable long-term financial models, and proactively identify and highlight opportunities for financial processes and database improvements to streamline processes and workflows by partnering with other members of the finance team.Support creation of presentation materials for executive-level stakeholders

Qualifications
Scenario planning and analysis skills are the main requirement for this position, but preference is given to candidates with 3+ years in FP&A at a growth company (including knowledge of GAAP accounting)Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related fieldHigh proficiency in utilizing MS Excel, and relational database applications (Hyperion/Essbase desired)Proven presentation and project management skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsThe ability to work effectively and independently with all levels of management

The salary range for this position is:

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
