Join HNTB as an Engineer II Our office has an extensive history delivering exciting and complex transportation projects for area clients like ARDOT, TxDOT, DART, NTTA, and major airports in Dallas/Fort Worth and Little Rock.

What You'll Do:

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
  • Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.
  • Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
  • Able to selfsufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Roadway design for transportation projects.
  • Developing 3D models for roadway corridors.
  • Developing preliminary and final design plans for the Arkansas Department of Transportation and other clients.
  • Cost control on projects and quality control within discipline.
  • Planning, design, and construction phases of projects.
  • Production of roadway, pavement marking plans, traffic control, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration and final specifications.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
  • Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad drafting software.
  • Exhibiting experience with InRoads, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and/or Civil 3D design software.
  • Attention to quality in design and production of deliverables. Compliance with project, office and company quality procedures.
  • Eagerness to develop skills and build career working on challenging engineering projects for key transportation clients.

What We Prefer:

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • ARDOT or TxDOT experience
