Job Summary

Pulaski County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Project Inspector. As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of roadway and bridge construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits to inspect construction work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Field Testing and Evaluation: Operate specialized equipment to test and evaluate the quality of construction materials and workmanship.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction progress, materials used, and any issues or concerns.
  • Communication and Coordination: Liaise with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Completion of college-level coursework in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of bridge and asphalt roadway construction materials, techniques, and procedures, as well as good knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to travel extensively throughout the construction site, lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds, and work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work primarily in the field, with extensive travel throughout Pulaski County to observe construction on a daily basis.
