We're searching for a passionate Sales Manager to lead and empower a team of Account Executives to crush their goals. In this hands-on role, you'll wear multiple hats – recruiting top talent, crafting winning sales strategies, and coaching your team to become sales superstars. You'll be a master of efficiency, constantly optimizing workflows and identifying the sales tactics that deliver the biggest bang for the buck. By building a collaborative and results-oriented culture, you'll ignite a sales engine that drives Backflip's success.
We are ready to scale and experiment As an early hire, you will play a critical role in ensuring Backflip executes at the highest standards. Success in this role requires the ability to learn quickly and try new things, while ensuring our campaigns are producing results.
This position is remote (U.S.) and reports to the Head of Sales. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor (~60 person team) working directly with senior leaders in a well-capitalized startup with a great culture (Check out our recently announced $15M Series A).
What You'll Do:
- Develop a high-performing sales team of 8-10 Account Executives that consistently exceeds quota
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of AEs to ensure their success
- Cultivate a positive, high-agency, and results-oriented team culture
- Implement sales coaching programs to continuously improve team skills and strategies
- Optimize the AE workflow to identify and implement operational efficiencies that boost productivity
- Analyze team performance data to identify and scale top-performing behaviors and strategies
- Foster strong collaboration with marketing, product, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support sales growth
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, proactively identifying and communicating potential risks and opportunities for improvement
Qualifications:
- Experience in managing and coaching high-performing sales teams, preferably in a high-frequency B2C or SMB sales org
- Track record of being a high-performing individual contributor in B2C or SMB sales
- Operationally excellent, with a proven ability to own KPIs, Dashboards, Workflows, and tooling to optimize the sales process and drive rep success
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment
- Clear communication and strong organizational skills
- Optimism, confidence, high agency, reliability, and drive
