The incumbent will:
Deny admission to undesirable or unauthorized persons, prevents unauthorized removal of National Gallery property, answers inquiries from visitors and aids persons in distress.
Serves at stationary posts or patrols heavily trafficked public areas or locations that are vulnerable to crimes against persons, theft, vandalism and other damage.
Possess knowledge of emergency alarms and fire procedures.Possess knowledge of First aid and CPR.
Possess knowledge of pertinent laws relating to arrests, arrest authority and procedures, search, seizure and detention of persons.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Maintain a pleasant and tactful manner towards coworkers, Gallery staff, supervisors, and the public at all times.
