Job Title: Armed Special Police Officer

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Armed Special Police Officers to join our team at K&T Security. As a leading provider of security services in Washington, DC, we offer a unique opportunity for professionals to make a difference in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their patrons.

Job Summary:

As an Armed Special Police Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling access to premises, enforcing strict age restrictions, and providing exceptional customer service. You will also be required to respond to incidents, operate surveillance systems, and manage access control duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control access to premises, ensuring the safety and security of customers, employees, and visitors.
  • Enforce strict age restrictions by ensuring no one under 21 is allowed on-site.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patrons and addressing their concerns professionally.
  • Respond swiftly to theft, vandalism, unauthorized entry, and other incidents as required.
  • Operate surveillance systems and detection devices to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Manage access control duties, including greeting and checking IDs of visitors.
  • Practice de-escalation techniques to manage potentially tense situations.
  • Write detailed daily activity reports and document any irregularities or violations.
  • Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, in compliance with K&T Security's uniform standards.
  • Adhere to all District of Columbia regulations regarding the carrying and use of firearms.
Requirements:
  • Licensing: Must have a valid District of Columbia Armed SPO License.
  • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of security experience, with a strong understanding of access control systems and the ability to stand for long periods.
  • De-escalation: Familiarity with de-escalation techniques to effectively manage conflicts or incidents.
  • Technology: Must own an Android or iPhone to access required websites/apps for clocking in/out and site management.
  • Uniform: Must comply with the uniform standards provided by K&T Security.
