Job Summary

The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Police Officer. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and enforcing federal laws and regulations within the Department's jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Investigate crimes and gather evidence to support prosecutions.
  • Provide assistance and support to the public, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to share intelligence and best practices.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and not have reached the age of 37 by the date of appointment.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a physical fitness test and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous law enforcement experience.
  • Experience working in a federal law enforcement agency.
  • Knowledge of federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
