How you will Achieve More with Intellia:
As a Research Associate, you will help support the Amplicon Sequencing queue, which enables the company to be on the cutting edge in the development CRISPR/Cas9 as a life-changing therapeutic.
This is an opportunity for you to learn all about sequencing and how it can be used to answer scientific questions. In this role, you'll act as a champion for continuous improvement while helping us to drive projects forward for off-target work. Your daily responsibilities will allow you to gain exposure to the many diverse groups at Intellia, and we'll support you in exploring and developing your career interests.
Troubleshoot issues and optimize processes, both independently and in collaboration with our team Support Off-target workflows using liquid handling automation and on the bench Conducting library preparations and sequencing experiments independently to meet timelines Meeting with requesters to explain results and guide them through the next steps Operating and maintaining Illumina NovaSeq, NextSeq and MiSeq platforms Working with molecular biology techniques such as DNA purification, shearing, adapter ligation, PCR, NGS library purification and quantification Support high throughput in-vitro CRISPR screening Managing multiple workflow queues/requests About You: We are looking for a candidate with a BS in Molecular Biology with at least 1 year of relevant experience in either an academic or industrial setting. Exposure to and passion for automation is a plus. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of NGS Production within the Automation, Engineering, Genomics, Informatics, and Screening team (AEGIS). This hiring manager oversees many of the essential support systems that enable Intellia's state-of-the-art approach to science, which includes compound management, a variety of NGS applications, extractions, and more. All of which will provide the candidate with multiple areas inside and outside of the group for cross-training and exposure to cutting-edge gene therapy development. The hiring manager values teamwork and a positive attitude above everything else. There is nothing that cannot be accomplished when you know a team has your back. The team is currently working mostly onsite to execute NGS workflows in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, we require a candidate to be currently local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating.
