  • You will work as part of the construction delivery team, taking direction from the construction lead and project senior leadership team.
  • You will build relationships to manage and influence stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • You will build a strong working relationship with your clients and support the construction lead in turning the client's vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
  • Providing program level leadership as an extension of the client's senior leadership team to ensure the overall successful completion of the program/s as may be assigned.
  • Establishing key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
  • Procuring and leading the specialist design team, permitting, budgeting, construction supervision and cost consultants throughout the project.
  • Implementing an appropriate and effective project management framework.
  • Effectively managing the performance of the program team to execute assigned programs and projects, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery on large complex programs and projects.
  • Acting as the key client and consultant interface at all project stages ensuring that client and quality objectives are met, and projects are delivered within safety, quality, time and cost targets.
  • Directing project planning and production of the detailed project plan.
  • Supervising and managing the cross-functional project team.
  • Providing strategic advice from project conception stage to achieve overall objectives, development of success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters until completion and handover.
  • Anticipating and implementing strategies to address quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing/implementing/managing the effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout a project.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques using KPI's to improve project performance.
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances and procurement of resources.
  • Monitoring and controlling contract changes and variations.
  • Establishing and leading regular site progress meetings.
  • Identifying project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans and implement action plans.
  • Establishing and preparing formal reporting arrangements on project progress for the client.
  • Preparing scope of works including the identification of resource requirements, supporting the cost estimation and budget reviews.
  • Proactively developing a plan for the timely closeout and practical completion of the works.

You'll need to have:

  • Relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred).
  • Demonstrated capital program leadership experience.
  • Effectively managed integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase life science and industrial manufacturing capital programs.
  • Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (design build and construction manager at risk).
  • You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated construction teams. You will be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.

You'll also have:

  • Working towards membership of MCIOB / MAPM / MRICS / MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the xxx sector.
  • Construction management expertise.
  • Developing commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
