Position Overview

We are currently looking for a CAD Technician and Survey Technician to support our projects in our Southwest District. The CAD Tech is responsible for plotting detailed design drawings, modifying plans, preparing quantities, checking design drawings and various other tasks related to drawings.

District Overview

Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We do self-performance work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.

Location

This position will be located in Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares means and methods drawings per MECT standards/guides by using designated software (AutoCAD)
  • Responsible for continuously reviewing and modifying submitted drawings
  • Reviews drawings and asserts changes based on field input from segment Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Works closely with various department managers and engineers
  • Keeps quantity book for major volumes as well as red line and as built version of the Project being built
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
  • AutoCAD (Civil 3D) software experience is preferred
  • A Survey/ Engineering background is preferred
  • Microstation software experience is not required but strongly preferred
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and oral
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
