Overview: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO's) is charged to assist the Board of Directors in establishing, modifying and monitoring corporate goals and objectives of the various business entities and investments held by the holding company .

CFO Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company's fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Provide adequate reporting to monitor company performance vs self and industry.
  • Risk management including insurances, forward contracting for both sales and input commodities, environmental performance management and staffing.
  • Assure all tax related, legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to determine values and mission, and plan short and long-term goals.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive landscapes, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets and new industry developments and standards
  • Work with the HR staff to hire, evaluate and provide professional development opportunities for the company's senior management team. Help with recruiting new staff members when necessary.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the company and organization.
  • Manage office staff that are in their direct chain of command.
  • Participate as a Board Member for entities or affiliated organizations.
  • Interact with professional consultants hired to support the operation and management of the various company entities and interests of OBH.
  • Maintain our banking relationships with the various sources of credit including vendors and Farm Credit.

    CFO Requirements:
    • Agricultural Background dersirable
    • Bachelor's degree or direct experience in accounting, business management or relevant discipline.
    • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
    • Experience with hedging commodities, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
