Organization Overview:
The Diabetes, Obesity and Complications Therapeutic Area (DOCTA) focuses on new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. Starting from an idea, we work with partners across Lilly to discover and develop novel biologic, small molecule and nucleic acid-based therapeutics. The Preclinical Sigilon DOCTA group is an in-vivo team focused on developing cell therapy approaches to treating diabetes. Based in Cambridge MA, the preclinical team performs in-vivo proof of concept and efficacy studies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team. We are seeking a highly motivated, early career scientist to join our collaborative and enthusiastic preclinical team. Implement rodent studies as part of a collaborative in-vivo team.Perform in-vivo activities including monitoring, dosing, surgical support, sample collection, and ex vivo analyses.Make observations, evaluate data, interpret results and document in a well-maintained laboratory notebook.Demonstrate understanding and application of relevant scientific literature.Engage in the coordination of assigned research with other teams as necessary to ensure the completion of the team's research projects.Follow standard laboratory practices and company policiesBasic Requirements:BS or MS in biological sciences, molecular biology, animal sciences, neuroscience, or similar field0-3 years of in-vivo experience with rodentsAdditional Skills/Preferences:Prior experience with mice or rats, with proficiency in rodent handling is highly desirable.Prior experience with rodent surgery, blood collection, and tissue harvesting is preferred.Outstanding interpersonal skills and established collaborative work habits.Proven ability to work independently as well as within a flexible team-oriented environment.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and time management.
