About the Role:

The Associate Scientist will play a pivotal role in the development of AAV candidates for the preclinical gene therapy pipeline. This position involves collaboration within a cross-functional team focused on the production and characterization of AAV-based vectors through transient transfection in mammalian cells. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mammalian cell culture and viral vector production, along with a solid understanding of molecular biology techniques, including plasmid generation and molecular assays for AAV characterization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct production and analytical characterization of AAV vectors utilizing mammalian cell culture.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot protocols for AAV production processes.
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive electronic records, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Communicate findings to team members through written reports and collaborative discussions.

Who You Are:

You have a background in viral vector production and cell culture techniques, with a desire to deepen your expertise in AAV-based gene therapies. You thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment, eager to learn and apply new technological skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with adherent or suspension mammalian cell culture, demonstrating proficiency in aseptic techniques and the ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot new protocols.
  • Familiarity with basic molecular and analytical techniques, including PCR-based assays, plasmid preparation, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changes, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mammalian cell culture production of viral vectors or recombinant proteins.
  • Prior experience with bench scale bioreactors in mammalian platforms.
