How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

We are looking for an experienced Associate Scientist to join the Nuclease Engineering team in the Gene Editing Platform Group at Intellia. The ideal candidate is high-energy, goal-driven and has experience with different CRISPR-based gene editing technologies and will be responsible for helping drive emerging gene-editing technologies towards human therapeutics using various biochemical or cell biology techniques. Additional responsibilities include:

Evaluate new technologies and approaches to support Intellia's Nuclease Platform DevelopmentExecute and troubleshoot high throughput experiments to optimize gene editing efficiency in different immortal and primary mammalian cells lines via different delivery methods (Lentivirus, AAV, Lipid nanoparticles etc.)Perform experiments using multiple instruments to measure protein expression (RT-PCR, ELISA, Flow-cytometry etc.) and/or genome integrity (Next-generation sequencing etc.)Document results in a timely manner in electronic notebooks and present data internally and with external collaborators.Analyze and synthesize results to assess future directions.About You: You are a highly motivated, goal-driven, and a team-oriented scientist, who is excited about new challenges. You have a deep understanding of CRISPR-Cas9 or other relevant technologies, and experience with biochemical and cell-based assays to evaluate the function of the gene editing technologies. Masters in Biochemistry, Biophysics or Cellular and Molecular biology with 2-4 years of research experience. Strong candidates with Bachelors in related disciplines with 4-6 years of experience will also be consideredExtensive experience in mammalian cell-based assaysKnowledge of the CRISPR landscape preferredExperience with a broad spectrum of molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience with assay development and/or protein/RNA kinetics is a plus.Organized, self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving skillsContinuously seeks to improve existing scientific processesDetail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skillsExperience with different protein engineering approaches is a plusMeet your future team: The Gene Editing Platform team is a group of highly motivated and collaborative scientists. This group is responsible for the development of CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing tools to advance Intellia's platform to enable curative therapies. As a part of the Gene Editing Platform function, you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience with multiple cutting-edge gene therapy technologies. The team is currently working onsite to execute workflows in a wet-lab environment. Therefore, we require the candidate to be currently local to Cambridge MA, or open to relocating.
