The Senior Account Executive will be tasked with managing and servicing a book of business within Alera Group's Houston, Austin, and San Antonio markets, along with aiding in the expansion of this business portfolio. This role involves leading a service team to deliver necessary reports and other client requirements. The ideal candidate should excel in a dynamic environment, possess advanced knowledge of the healthcare/insurance industry, and exhibit strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Additionally, a proactive attitude towards client service and effective time management are essential. Regular in-person and remote meetings are expected both internally and externally.

  • Manage a designated book of business and contribute to its growth by fostering new relationships.
  • Collaborate with Producers to enhance employer-sponsored benefit programs for mid-market companies.
  • Engage with vendors, carriers, and partners to address escalated claims and HR-related issues.
  • Utilize internal and external resources to benchmark benefit programs and provide recommendations.
  • Lead the RFP process, manage client utilization and renewal reports, and oversee program communication and implementation.
  • Stay informed on benefit plans, legislative updates, and ensure compliance for clients.
  • Optimize team utilization, oversee agency management systems, and enhance HRIS connections.
  • Work with stakeholders to uphold benefits practices, comply with laws, and handle audits.
  • Contribute to enhancing department policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
  • Conduct client enrollment meetings and address benefit inquiries.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in employee benefits, preferably at a broker
  • Proficiency in Employee Benefits and Life and Health Insurance
  • Financial statement and report preparation skills
  • Demonstrated process enhancements leading to profitability
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions
  • Strong analytical and leadership capabilities
  • Continuous learning mindset
