Job Summary

The Analyst, Prospect Management applies sophisticated knowledge and skills in the use and manipulation of multiple databases to support fundraising and engagement for Chicago Booth Advancement. The Analyst is involved with all prospect management data practices for Chicago Booth within the alumni database, including data entry, analysis, and report creation. This individual works regularly and closely with Advancement staff to provide strategic analysis and key observations on data to help ensure prospects effectively move through the development cycle. They work with staff to build fundraising portfolios and provide prospect recommendations and build and maintain data audit reports to monitor data accuracy of the Booth prospect pool for accurate reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the Research and Prospect Management Team, fundraisers, and senior staff to implement prospect management functions and reports from the alumni database to ensure an efficient prospect cycle for the Booth prospect pool.
  • Builds and maintains a suite of data audit reports to ensure accurate reporting out of the alumni database and the associated data maintenance within the database.
  • Creates reports and provides key observations on the prospect pool, prospect solicitation activity, visits, capacity ratings, and other prospect data.
  • Provides prospect recommendations for gift officer portfolio building and management.
  • Enters and maintains prospect data, including prospect record updates, portfolio assignment changes, and proposal maintenance.
  • Participates in regular Booth Advancement training sessions focusing on prospect data functions and policies.
  • Contributes to team goals toward achieving overall department objectives.
  • Conducts prospect research, prospect management, strategic planning and market research on prospects and donors.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates information on new and existing prospects, solving problems as they arise.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Ellucian Advance, Business Objects, Blackbaud products, or Tableau.
Preferred Competencies
  • Superior verbal and written skills and demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in fundraising and alumni relations, including benchmarking and metrics.
  • Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes.
  • Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Working Conditions
  • Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.
