Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions (a Taylor company) is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our Arden Hills team responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by implementation and monitoring of the facility's environmental, industrial, health and safety programs and developing controls for all areas of property and casualty risks. This role will be onsite in Arden Hills and require occasional travel.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance to all local and federal regulatory programs as required by OSHA, EPA and PCA.
  • Oversee the implementation of environmental, health, safety policies and security procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness, and injury prevention, and building safety/security) used throughout Venture Solutions.
  • Conducts safety and environmental audits of company facilities. Reviews company operations for compliance with safety regulations.
  • Inspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assign and manage training programs such as compliance training, plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, security, and life safety.
  • Develop, track and report key service performance measurements.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where health, security and safety hazards exist.
  • Works with managers and human resources to address those individuals who violate safety guidelines.
  • Various safety & environmental reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of Safety or Environmental Sciences experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Administered and maintained plant wide EH&S management system
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leading growth and change initiatives related to the health and safety field
