^The Rail Operations Technician is responsible for meeting FLEXRail's service commitments by supporting the day-to-day operations within the terminal. This entails safely executing operational support in accordance with regulatory requirements and FLEXRail's operational and safety protocols. As a Rail Operations Technician, you'll be responsible for: ^

  • Charging electric vehicles and ensuring charging stations are full of liquid propane and in working order.
  • Providing auxiliary services essential for terminal operations.
  • Safely conducting pre-trip services to prepare electric vehicles for transportation.
  • Ensuring consistent and punctual attendance.
  • ^Adhering to instructions to complete assigned tasks promptly.^
  • ^Communicating effectively both internally and externally.^
  • ^Demonstrating adaptability, learning from feedback, and exercising good judgment in applying procedures.^
  • ^Facilitating communication with crew or yard workers via radio.^
  • ^Inspecting equipment post-operation to identify any damage or defects.^
  • ^Record-keeping duties, including documenting car details (number, origin, destination, cargo).^
  • ^Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.^

Candidate Requirements

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including word meanings, spelling, composition rules, and grammar, as well as basic mathematics.
  • Ability to analyze and exercise individual judgment to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain current certifications for operating machinery, conducting air tests, and following safety protocols.
  • Must hold a current, valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check

Physical Demands of the Job

The employee must ensure safety while working in a shipping and rail yard environment, including safely entering and exiting customer cars, railcars, and equipment.

Work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
