This position oversees the Colorado River Storage Project delivering cost-based renewable and reliable hydroelectric power to 129 customer utilities across 5 Western states, including multiple Tribal nations.

These utilities subsequently provide power to millions of Americans in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico and Arizona.
This position has impact on the primarily rural economies in this footprint.

Additionally, this position plays a critical role in advocating for the prioritization of hydropower and power customers in the Colorado River allocation discussions and when working through critical endangered species issues associated with the Glen Canyon Dam and Colorado River.

Leads 37 staff members
Manages a $540M annual budget and revolving fund.
Ensures strong, positive relationships are built and maintained with customers, industry stakeholders, Bureau of Reclamation, and Congressional delegations.

Is a significant leader in addressing the impacts of the Colorado River megadrought on communities and stakeholders across the West.

CRSP also markets power from the Falcon-Amistad Project, which is operated by the International Boundary Water Commission, requiring coordination with the U.S.

State Department.

CRSP employees staff a 24/7/365 real-time function responsible for ensuring power is available to meet customer demand and ensure grid reliability at all times.

CRSP employees also staff robust environmental activities associated with the Colorado River.

Participates as a member of WAPA's senior leadership team in (1) developing WAPA's overall long-range direction, goals, and strategies; (2) developing and leading high performing teams which ensure quality, customer-focused service; (3) employing excellent business principles and safe, effective, and efficient operating practices; and (4) fostering a WAPA-wide commitment to good power system stewardship and WAPA citizenship in accomplishing broader institutional goals.
