General Summary of Position
Functions in a nursing work leader role, managing personnel associated with nursing services, monitors quality and safety issues. Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients and follows established standards and practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required and
- Master's degree in Health Care, Nursing Administration preferred and
- CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO AN APPROPRIATE COMBINATION OF EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. required
Experience
- 1-2 years Progressively responsible experience is a hospital setting or physician practice, inclusive of 1 year of previous supervisory experience required
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Registered Nurse, licensed in the District of Columbia; Upon Hire required and
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care;
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care;
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
